Once again, I’m getting this post out a bit late, and once again, it’s due to my sewing duties. I was so stoked to find out on Wednesday that my A-line skirt made it through the first round of the Super Online Sewing Match. I had a couple of days where I squeezed in a little bit of work on my Hawthorn dress (I’m still hoping to get it done by the 29th for the Sewalong), and now I’m hard at work on the next round’s project, the Roller Skate Dress/Tunic by Oliver + S. I won’t say anything about my design right now, but I’m so excited about my plan for this project and I can’t wait to share the finished product with you!
I have another piece of great news: Phillip just got his first professional graphic design job! He interviewed earlier today and they offered him the job on the spot! I’m so proud of him and excited that his hard work is finally paying off! It’s also located close to my work so we can carpool! Yay!
But anyway, all of the excitement around here and the constant sewing is making it hard to keep up with thrifting, so I only have a few finds to share with you this week.
The first find of the week is the URO (Unidentified Rattan Object). I know it’s rattan, but I can’t tell if it serves some kind of practical purpose or if it’s purely decorative. I spotted it in the Grover Beach Goodwill and was shocked to discover it was only $3.25! It’s so unique and cool that I snapped it up right away! To me it looks like a tree, so I was thinking of possibly spray painting it a fun color and using it as a Christmas decoration in either our house or the antique space. Does anyone know what this is?
We also found some old magnetic letter boards, a Disney record, a cute mid-century Christmas bird ornament, and an Electric Company book.
And my favorite find of the week, another set of Libbey Horse tumblers, which now brings my collection to 12! It seems like these glasses are relatively common, but I really love the design! A quick search on Ebay revealed that there are a couple of other shapes these glasses come in, so I’ll have to be on the lookout so I can collect the whole barware set one day!
That’s all for this week, thanks for stopping by! As usual, I’ll be linking up at: Apron Thrift Girl, A Living Space, Sir Thrift A Lot, and Joyful Treasure Hunting. Head on over and check out everyone’s finds for this week!
